About the Chef
Chef James W. Jackson III has been working in the culinary field since 1996. He trained in the kitchen of Harvard Business School and The Publick House — Sturbridge, MA.
Chef Jackson worked for four years at Gator’s Dockside — Gainesville, FL as the Kitchen Manager. During that time Chef Jackson also served as the Catering Chef for the establishment. Chef Jackson catered events of all sizes notably for the University of Florida Alumni Hall events and University of Florida sports teams.
For nearly three years, Chef Jackson, traveled to University campuses in the Northeast as an Executive Chef with Sodexo Group. While with Sodexo, Chef Jackson worked at Mount Saint Mary College — Newburgh, NY, Daniel Webster College — Nashua, NH and Rivier University — Nashua, NH serving nearly 6,000 students. Chef Jackson also facilitated all daily meals for Camp Dudley Summer Camp — Westport, NY for two summers.
Chef Jackson spent two years in South Florida with the Alibi Restaurant Group — Wilton Manor, FL as the Executive Chef for their two restaurants and catering services. During that time Chef Jackson hosted monthly wine tastings; pairing local flavors with a large selection of wine. Chef Jackson also earned the Alibi best burger according to Fort Lauderdale Local 10 News viewers and participated in the Amstel Light Burger Bash presented by Pat LaFrieda Meats, hosted by Rachael Ray.
Call Street Cafe
Chef Jackson and his wife Tamara Jackson bring their fresh unique style of food to Downtown Starke, opening Call Street Cafe in the Spring of 2015. Since opening, Call Street Cafe has been featured in the Bradford County Telegraph and quickly took over as #1 on The 10 Best Starke Restaurants list according to TripAdvisor. In February of 2016 Chef Jackson and Tamara were honored by the North Florida Chamber (photo featured).
